Dario Benea: sixteen years of change and innovation

A journey through technology, professional development and personal challenges: Dario’s experience at the heart of the company’s evolution.
16 May 2025

For over 16 years, Dario Benea has been at the forefront of Macron’s evolution, currently in the role of Business Analyst. His mission? To translate the needs of the operational departments into efficient digital solutions, enabling every sector to operate at its best thanks to cutting-edge IT tools. “When I started in November 2008, there were 50 of us and the IT department was run by just three people. Today, we are a well-structured company with an advanced management system such as SAP, which enables us to operate at a whole new level.”

From problem-solving to strategy: a constantly evolving role

In his job, Dario finds himself “in the middle”: he has to listen to the business’s needs and turn them into practical technological solutions. “My job isn’t just to manage the technology, but to translate the needs of those working in the various departments into tools that are genuinely useful.”

The company’s growth has brought with it increasingly ambitious challenges. “Over the last 16 years, our objectives have become ever more ambitious. We’ve always had to be ready to respond to new demands and anticipate the best solutions to support Macron’s expansion.”

Automation and innovation: the challenge of the future

With the implementation of the SAP management system, Dario’s work focuses on the automation of management processes, not only for the head office but for the entire Macron Sports Hub network and its international offices, including Macron US. “2025 will be a key year for extending the system’s integration globally. We must ensure logical alignment across all departments, making processes seamless and optimised.”

But the role of a Business Analyst is not merely reactive: it is also proactive. “Now that we have an enterprise resource planning system with enormous potential, such as SAP, we must be able to anticipate the organisation’s needs. It is not enough simply to respond to requests; we must propose innovative tools even before they are asked for.”

Personal and professional growth: the value of change

Dario describes his journey at Macron using a quote from Massimo Gramellini: “To take a step forward, you have to lose your balance for a moment.”. A concept he has experienced first-hand. “Every change brings with it a little uncertainty, but it is also the only way to grow. Every time we’ve faced a challenge, we knew it would take us to the next level.’

A working environment that makes a difference

If, after so many years, Dario has never felt the need to move on, it is partly down to the company culture. “Macron puts people first. Here, you’re not just a number, but a professional who is valued. The working environment is stimulating, positive and full of opportunities for dialogue. We spend most of our days in the office: doing so in a pleasant environment with people you get on well with makes all the difference in the world.”

Despite his introverted nature, he found that Macron provided an environment that helped him to open up. “Team-building activities, company events, the collaborative atmosphere: all of this makes you feel part of something bigger.”

Macron in a word? Family.

“For me, working at Macron is like being part of a family. Of course, there are moments of tension and misunderstandings, as in any workplace, but the spirit that guides us is always that of building something together. And it is precisely this mindset that Macron conveys to its partners too: every collaboration is based on mutual respect, creating lasting relationships of trust.”

Looking to the future, Dario knows there will be no shortage of challenges, but that doesn’t daunt him. “If there’s one thing I’ve learnt here, it’s that change isn’t something to be feared: it’s something to be embraced. And that’s exactly how you grow.”
