Hellas Verona and Macron, the club’s kit sponsor, have unveiled the new away kit that Eusebio Di Francesco’s side will wear during the coming season. The away kit, like the home shirt unveiled a few days ago, pays a specific tribute to Dante Alighieri, on the 700th anniversary of his death, who had strong ties to the city of Verona, where he lived for seven years.

The new “Away” shirt features a V-neck trimmed in blue, the same colour found on the sleeve hems. The dominant colour of the shirt is white, embellished with a series of diagonal yellow-and-blue brushstrokes at the bottom, which also appear on the back, at the base of the shirt. The back of the neck is personalised with an image of Dante and the two dates 1321 – 2021 on a blue background. The word ‘VERONA’ is embroidered in a tone-on-tone design on the back of the neck.

The Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo, is embroidered in blue on the right-hand side of the chest, whilst the Hellas Verona crest is on the left, over the heart. On the inside of the shirt, at the bottom, the phrase ‘ch’in te avrà sì benigno riguardo’ is hot-stamped; this is taken from the Divine Comedy, specifically from Canto XVII of Paradise. This is a clear tribute to the Supreme Poet, who stayed in Verona in the early 14th century and again between 1312 and 1318.
