Just a few days after the announcement of the new long-term technical partnership between Macron e Hull FC, here is the first tangible result of this collaboration: the New Principal Kit 2027 of the English rugby league club. The design pays tribute to an important chapter in the club’s history, drawing inspiration from the kit of the Hull White Star, featuring a black kit with a white star in the centre of the chest. A historical reference that Macron reinterprets in a contemporary style, transforming the outline of the star into the distinctive graphic motif of the new shirt.
The design of the new Principal Kit takes shape through subtle lines that radiate out from the central star, extending its outline across the entire surface of the shirt. The geometric patterns unfold against a tone-on-tone black background, creating an effect of depth and movement that follows the contours of the body. The contrasting white details – from the sleeve edges to the reinforced stitching along the shirt’s edges – complete a kit with a bold character, successfully blending the club’s historical heritage with a modern aesthetic.
The reference to the’Hull White Star, which merged with Hull FC to form a single entity in 1881, is not merely a graphic detail, but a direct link to the club’s roots and identity. With this new home kit, Macron revives that essential and iconic image, making it the starting point for a new visual interpretation.
On the chest, the logo Macron the Hero and the coat of arms Hull FC Both are printed in white, in keeping with the shirt’s design. A further nod to the club’s history can be found on the back of the collar, where the date 2017, followed by a white star, commemorates the tenth anniversary of the Challenge Cup victory achieved that year.
On the inside of the collar, the backneck features a personalised label divided into two halves – one white and one black – bearing the club crest, the Macron logo and the text Designed in Bologna, to highlight the link between the project and the company’s creative hub, the Macron Campus.
The jumper has a fit Body Fit. The uniform is made entirely from Eco Fabric, fabrics made from recycled post-consumer plastic, in line with Macron’s commitment to increasingly environmentally conscious production. Specifically, the main fabric used is the’Eco Armevo, with inserts in Eco Bodytex. Matching shorts and socks complete the set, maintaining the colour scheme of black and white.
With this first kit, Macron e Hull FC They are launching their joint venture by unveiling a project that draws on the club’s origins to forge a new expression of its identity. A shirt in which tradition and innovation come together, symbolised by a star that continues to tell the story of the club and the city it represents.
