Virtus Segafredo Bologna is gearing up to treat its fans to yet another thrilling season. With just a few days to go before its first official fixture – the 2022 Super Cup in Brescia – the club has unveiled its new match kits for both the upcoming league campaign and the EuroLeague fixtures. The traditional colour scheme and elegant design, combined with an innovative graphic touch and gold detailing on the Cup kit, are intended to perfectly capture the history and identity of one of Italy’s most successful clubs.
For league matches, the new ‘Home’ kit is black with a V-neck featuring red, black and white trim – a colour scheme also featured on the sleeves. On the right-hand side of the chest, in white, is the Macron Hero logo; on the left, over the heart, is the Virtus Segafredo Bologna crest. On the side of the shirt is a white band, within which V-shapes of various sizes are incorporated in a tone-on-tone, pixelated effect. The black shorts have a red, white and black striped band at the top, whilst the vertical band on the sides features V-shapes of various sizes in a pixelated design. The ‘Away’ version is white with a collar and sleeves featuring red and black stripes. On the chest, in black, is the Macron Hero logo alongside the club crest. On the side of the shirt, as in the home kit, there is a vertical stripe – in this case black – within which a series of ‘V’s of varying sizes are printed in a tone-on-tone, pixelated design. The kit is completed by white shorts with a black, white and red striped top edge and a black side stripe that echoes the same pattern found on the shirt. The league kit also includes a pre-match warm-up top, which is black with two horizontal red stripes across the shoulders, flanking a larger white stripe in the centre. The top features an all-over tone-on-tone design, depicting a series of V-shapes of varying thickness in a pixelated effect.
As for the shirts that the Bologna-based club will wear in the EuroLeague – with the ‘V Nere’ making their home debut on 7 October against AS Monaco – the ‘Home’ version is a black crew-neck shirt with a white trim and a thin gold stripe, the same colour combination found on the sleeves and the edges of the white side stripe. The Italian tricolour flag appears on the outer back of the collar, whilst on the right-hand side of the chest, one below the other, are the Virtus logo and the Macron Hero logo. As with the league kit, the shirt is embellished with a vertical white stripe down the side, featuring tone-on-tone ‘V’s’ of various sizes with a pixelated effect. The black shorts feature a white band at the top with a gold horizontal stripe inside, whilst the vertical stripe with gold edges and V-shapes of various sizes is repeated on the sides. The ‘Away’ kit is white and features the same layout and graphic details as the home version, with the difference that the crew neck is black with a gold stripe, as are the underarms and the black stripe down the side, which also features the pixelated ‘V’s. The shorts are white with a black side stripe featuring gold edging. The warm-up top is a black crew-neck shirt with gold edging, a colour also featured on the shoulders and in a wide vertical stripe down the side.
The new jerseys go on sale from today and are available, alongside all the items in the collection designed by Macron for Virtus Segafredo Bologna, at the Macron Sports Hubs in Bologna, at all authorised retailers and in the dedicated section for the ‘V nere’ on the macron.com website.
