Following the announcement last May of the technical sponsorship agreement with Macron, an Italian brand and international leader in the teamwear sector, Aalborg BK, a Danish club competing in the Danish Superliga, unveiled the new kits that the red-and-whites will wear during the upcoming 2021–2022 season. The shirts have been manufactured by the Italian company using Eco-Softlock fabric, made from 100% polyester derived from recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard.
The new “Home” jersey, with a crew neck, features the traditional slightly wider white and red vertical stripes with a modern twist: red rays radiating out across the white. Both the collar and the cuffs are knitted. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and the word ‘VESTRIBUNEN’. Also on the collar is a personalised tape bearing the repeated inscription ‘HELE NORDJYLLANDS HOLD’ (The whole North Jutland team). On the right side of the chest is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo, whilst on the left, over the heart, is the Aalborg BK crest. The year 1885, the year the club was founded, is embroidered on the back of the neck. On the back, in embossed graphics, stands out the design of a bull, which is an exact representation of the statue, the Cimbrian Bull – a symbol of the city and particularly dear to the red-and-white supporters. The home kit is completed by white shorts with red side stripes and red socks with thick white horizontal stripes along the top edge.
The “Away” version is ‘Aalborg Blue’ and features a knitted V-neck with red and white detailing. The distinctive graphic feature of the shirt is the all-over pattern of horizontal stripes, within which the number 1885 is embossed to create a 3D effect. Here too, the back of the neck and the inner neck tape are customised with the team’s colours and the slogans already featured on the home version. The number ‘1885’ is embroidered in red on the back of the neck, whilst on the front of the chest, also in red and on the right, is the Macron Hero logo, and on the left is the Danish club’s crest. The shorts, featuring red drawstrings, and the socks, which have two horizontal stripes (white and red) along the top edge, are the same colour as the shirt.
Aalborg BK’s new shirts not only represent the club’s colours and a sense of belonging, but also convey an important message of awareness regarding environmental protection. This commitment comes from a partner such as Macron, which strongly believes in environmental sustainability, demonstrating its ‘green attitude’ by applying high-calibre technological choices to its production processes whilst respecting and protecting the environment. These choices are fully shared by the Danish club.
