FC Basel 1893, a leading club in Swiss and European football, and Macron, the “RotBlau’s” technical partner from this year onwards, have unveiled the new ‘Home’ kit that the team will wear throughout the coming season. Alongside the club’s signature colours, history and symbols, the new shirts feature a graphic ‘fil rouge’ that pays homage to one of the city’s iconic buildings, the Basler Münster, a late-Gothic cathedral that ranks among Basel’s most important buildings and is a symbol of the city.

Jerseys that embody the team’s identity, but which also send a message of sustainability and respect for the environment, as they are made by the Italian brand using Eco-Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric made from recycled plastic and certified to the Global Recycled Standard.

The new ‘Home’ kit embodies the club’s iconic style, with the front and back of the shirt divided into two halves: one red and one blue. It features a V-neck, and the back of the neck is personalised with the logo, the club’s name and the silhouette of the cathedral against a black background. The detail that sets this shirt apart is a diamond-shaped pattern, embossed on both the front and back, which echoes the famous design of the roof tiles on Basel Cathedral.

On the inside hem of the shirt there is a personalised tape bearing the words ‘FC BASEL 1893 – AI STADT, AI CLUB, AI LIEBI’. On the right-hand side of the chest is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo, whilst on the left-hand side, over the heart, is the FC Basel 1893 crest. The year the club was founded is also printed on the back of the collar. The shorts are blue with red detailing, and the blue socks have a red top band.

The new ‘Home’ kit has a slim fit. The main fabric used is Eco-Sirena, and the inclusion of an Eco micromesh panel on the back makes the garments lighter and highly breathable. The new kits are on sale at the online stores macron.com and shop.fcb.ch.
