Pre-season training has been underway for a few days now, the objectives for the coming season are clear, and now it’s time to reveal the new jumpers that the’U.C. Sampdoria will wear from their next competitive fixtures onwards. These shirts are sure to honour the tradition of what is ‘the most beautiful jumper in the world’ and which combine the lines and colours that embody the history of the Sampdoria club with innovative graphic designs centred on a very specific theme. A team and the region to which it belongs and which it represents. A team and its sea. Sampdoria, Lady of the Sea. This refers to a text by Francesco Petrarca from 1358, relating to a journey he made to Genoa: “You will see a majestic city, nestled against a hill alpine, ‘magnificent’ in both men and walls, whose very appearance marks her out as the Lady of the Sea”.

Jerseys that combine these elements with sustainability and respect for the environment, inherent in the fabric from which they are made. Macron, the Sampdoria team’s technical partner, produces all the match kits in Eco Fabric, 100% polyester fabric (%) made from recycled plastic.

The new ‘Home Kit’ from Sampdoria, the Sampdoria club’s iconic shirt, is the traditional royal blue Sampdoria shirt, featuring four horizontal central stripes – white, red, black and white again – with the St George’s Shield in the centre. The neckline and sleeve hems feature Blucerchiati detailing, and the back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and the inscription Lady of the Sea, The Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, which certifies that every garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Italian brand’s headquarters. The design feature of the new 23-24 home kit is the embossed pattern that recreates the waves of the sea, featuring an all-over print on the upper part, front and back, and on the sleeves. On the outer back of the neck, the outline of the “Baciccia” – a typical bearded Genoese fisherman wearing a distinctive cap and pipe, and the team’s symbol – is printed in white. On the right-hand side of the chest, the Macron the Hero, on the left the coat of arms of the’U.C. Sampdoria, both featuring a silicone print. The shorts are white with a Blucerchiati-blue trim at the thigh, whilst the white socks have two Blucerchiati-blue stripes down the centre. The shirt is made from fabric Eco-Poly Stretch.

The jumper ‘Away Kit’ è white with a polo-style collar and knitted sleeve cuffs. The central section, featuring four bands – white, red, black and white again – with the Shield of St George at the centre, is characterised by a tone-on-tone, wave-like graphic pattern created using sublimation printing. The stylistic innovation of the Sampdoria away kit lies in the all-over embossed pattern, featuring repeated symbols of the anchor and the Baciccia, reinforcing the connection to the sea and creating a style with strong references to the world of fashion. The Baciccia also features here, in blue, on the back of the collar. On the chest, in royal blue, are the Macron Hero logo and the Sampdoria club crest. The shorts and socks are royal blue with Sampdoria-blue details. The fabric used for the shirt is Eco-Softlock.

The ‘ version‘Third’It is black with a polo-style collar and knitted sleeve cuffs. On the right-hand side, starting from the shoulder and running the full length of the shirt, there is a ’Blucerchiata’ stripe, and the St George’s shield stands out in the centre of the shirt. The sleeves feature the same tone-on-tone embossed design, with anchors and Baciccia, which also appears in the band below the back of the collar; within this band, the silhouette of the fisherman – the team’s symbol – is printed in amber. Also in amber is the Macron Hero logo on the chest, alongside a U.C. Sampdoria crest modelled on the one used in the mid-1960s. The kit is completed by black shorts and socks. The third shirt uses as its main fabric Eco-Sirena Light.
