The Vitória Sport Clube, the historic club from the city of Guimarães which competes in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, and Macron, the Portuguese team’s kit sponsor, have unveiled the new ‘Home’ shirt that the ‘Conquistadores’ will wear during the coming season. A shirt which, alongside the club’s colours and tradition, seeks to embody the pride of representing the city where the great Portuguese nation was born.

The new ‘Home’ shirt, featuring a mandarin collar, is white with black detailing around the collar and on the sleeve cuffs. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and crest, whilst the outer back of the neck features the acronym VSC (Vitória Sport Clube) appears in black with an embossed design. On the right side of the chest, in silicone, is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo; on the left, over the heart, also in silicone, is the Vitória SC crest.

The shirt is embellished with graphic details that reference the history of Guimarães, a city in the north of the country which the Portuguese regard as the birthplace of their nation and where D. Afonso Henriques, Portugal’s first independent king, reigned; he is featured on the team’s crest. A history to be proudly displayed, which is why the words ‘AQUI NASCEU PORTUGAL’ appear in embossed, tone-on-tone lettering in the centre of the chest, whilst the rest of the shirt features a sublimation print, a tone-on-tone design of part of the entrance gate to Guimarães Castle. The home kit is completed by white shorts with black side stripes and a black band around the top of the thigh. The socks are white with a black top band.

The “Away” version is all black and ‘tells’ the story of the club itself with tone-on-tone embossed graphics across the entire front of the shirt, featuring the acronym VSC and 1922, the year the Portuguese team was founded. The collar is a knitted polo collar, as are the sleeve cuffs. The back of the neck is personalised, as on the home kit, and the VSC acronym also appears in embossed graphics on the back of the neck. The shorts are black with white drawstrings, whilst the socks are black with a horizontal white band below the top edge.

Both shirts have a slim fit; the main fabric is Softlock, and the micromesh inserts ensure the garment is perfectly breathable. The new shirts, like all the garments in the collection that Macron produces for the Portuguese club, are available on the Vitória SC website and on macron.com.
