At Glasgow Warriors, thoughts are already turning to the upcoming season in the United Rugby Championship and the Challenge Cup, and the first step is to unveil the new match kits that the Scottish XV will wear on domestic and international pitches. Black and blue characterise the ‘Warriors’ new kits, which are enhanced by sophisticated details and graphics that make these technical garments unique and exclusive.

The new ‘Home’ shirt is an all-black crew-neck design, with the back of the neck personalised with the club’s logo and motto, ‘WHATEVER IT TAKES’, which is also repeated in sky blue on the sweatband inside the collar. The sleeve hem is embellished with a sublimation-printed band featuring the traditional “Glasgow Warriors tartan”. On the chest, in light blue, the Macron Hero logo flanks the Glasgow Warriors crest. The jersey features tone-on-tone embossed graphics on the sleeves, sides and lower back, depicting a crest containing the monogram ’GDRU’ (Glasgow District Rugby Union), the amateur team from which the current Glasgow Warriors originated in the 1990s. On the back of the collar, in light blue, is printed the date 1872 – the year the original club was founded – and also a reference to the 1872 Interdistrict Cup, namely the match between Glasgow and Edinburgh which has been played every year since then and is considered one of the oldest derbies in the world. The shorts are black with light blue drawstrings and feature the same graphic design on the sides as the shirt. The black socks feature the Macron Hero logo in light blue on the front and the words ‘GLASGOW WARRIORS’, also in light blue, on the back.

Blue is the colour that characterises the ‘Away’ shirt, which also features a crew neck with black trim, as do the sleeve cuffs. Across the shoulders runs a wide red band from which a pixelated graphic with a gradient effect extends down the sleeves. On the chest, in black, is the Macron Hero logo, and to the left is the Scottish club’s crest. Another graphic detail that enhances the away kit is a series of tone-on-tone ‘V’s of varying thickness, starting from the lower half of the shirt and inspired by the club’s logo. The back of the neck and sweatband are personalised as on the home kit, whilst the date ‘1872’ appears in white on the outer back of the neck. The light blue shorts feature the same pixelated graphic on the sides as seen on the shoulders and part of the sleeves. The light blue socks have a red top edge with a black horizontal band in the centre. The shirts have a body-hugging fit and are made from Armevo and Bodytex fabrics, which, as well as being lightweight and breathable, ensure maximum durability and comfort on the pitch.

The training collection is also very extensive, featuring training tops that combine a black base with bright shades of yellow and pink on the sleeves, and a sublimation-printed design of diagonal stripes in shaded yellow and pink. Other tops, including both long-sleeved and short-sleeved versions as well as vests – all in black – feature an abstract camouflage-effect design in light blue on the shoulders and sleeves. The training range is completed by hoodies, long and short trousers, anthem jackets and the full range of base layers. The garments created by Macron for the Glasgow Warriors are available in the section dedicated to the Scottish club on macron.com.
