The Newcastle Falcons, a historic English rugby club competing in the Gallagher Premiership, and Macron – the “Hero” company and official kit supplier to ‘The Falcons’ – have unveiled the new match kits that the Newcastle upon Tyne XV will wear during the upcoming season. Through the details and graphics designed by Macron, the shirts reflect the team’s strong connection with the city it represents.
The new ‘Home’ shirt is black with an anthracite grey mandarin collar and a three-button fastening. The shirt features an embossed graphic, also in anthracite grey, on the sleeves, which echoes the metal structure of the Tyne Bridge – an imposing structure that embodies the city’s industrial past and technological present, and is a symbol of the Newcastle upon Tyne skyline. The back of the neck is personalised with the club logo and the same graphic featured on the jersey. On the right side of the chest, in white, is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo, whilst on the left side, over the heart, is the Newcastle Falcons crest.
The ‘Away’ version is dominated by the colour red. The mandarin collar is black, as are the sleeve cuffs. The sleeves, once again, feature tone-on-tone embossed graphics that echo the design of the Tyne Bridge’s structure. On the chest, in black and using sublimation printing, are the Macron Hero and the English club’s logo.
Both jerseys have a Body Fit cut; the main fabric is Armevo, with Bodytex incorporated to give the garment lightness, a perfect fit, breathability and durability.
