Bologna FC 1909 and Macron, the Rossoblù club’s long-standing kit supplier and a leading international company in the teamwear sector, present the new home and away kits for the 2021–22 season. A key design feature of the team’s new kits is a tribute to the city and its symbols: the Two Towers and bricks, elements typical of Bolognese architecture. The shirts also convey a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment thanks to the fabric used by the Italian brand to produce them: Eco-Softlock fabric, made from recycled plastic and certified to the Global Recycled Standard – the most important international standard for the sustainable production of clothing and textiles. In fact, for every shirt produced, 13 0.5-litre plastic bottles are recycled.
The new ‘Home’ shirt features the traditional red and blue vertical stripes. It is a crew-neck knitted shirt with white and red-and-blue trim, which is also featured on the sleeve cuffs. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and the slogan “LO SQUADRONE CHE TREMARE IL MONDO FA”. The phrase “WE ARE ONE” is printed on the back of the neck – a motto that defines the team both on and off the pitch. The distinctive feature of the 2021–2022 match kit is the “all-over” embossed graphic texture, superimposed over the red and blue stripes, which echoes the brick pattern typical of the city’s architecture. On the right side of the chest, in white and with a silicone print, is the Macron Hero, the logo of the Emilia-based brand; on the left, over the heart, is the patch bearing the Bologna FC 1909 logo.
The “Away” version is white. The knitted crew neck is blue with a thin red stripe, a colour detail also featured on the sleeve hems. As with the ‘Home’ kit, the back of the neck is personalised and the words “WE ARE ONE” are printed on the nape. In this case, the reference to the city’s symbols comes from the embossed ‘BOLOGNA FC 1909’ lettering, repeated to form the stylised outline of the Two Towers. On the chest, in blue, are the Macron Hero and the club logo.
