The streets of Biarritz are still buzzing with the excitement of the huge celebrations marking the return of Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque to the Top 14, France’s top rugby league. It is a moment the team has been waiting for for seven years, having won five French Championship titles, one Challenge Cup and two French Cups. An exhilarating season has come to an end, a new one – equally eagerly anticipated by the team and the fans – is about to kick off, and the new kits designed by Macron, the Basque club’s kit sponsor, have also been unveiled.

For several seasons now, the Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque shirts have featured a highly distinctive, sophisticated and exclusive design. This is the “THE BO FAMILY” texture, a “graphic motif” adopted by the club and used in all its communications. Alongside this are references to Basque identity.

The new ‘Home’ shirt is red across the shoulders and chest, and white across the centre of the shirt and on the back. The collar has white trim and green detailing, and the Basque flag, the “Ikurrina”, is featured at the base of the collar. Further down on the chest is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo, whilst on the left, over the heart, are the crest and the words “Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque”. The back of the neck is personalised with a red-backed label featuring a Hong Kong flower design, the club’s name and logo, the Basque motto ‘Aupa BO’ and the name ‘Audrey’, in memory of the club’s Chief Financial Officer, who passed away prematurely.

The standout feature of the shirt is undoubtedly the “THE BO FAMILY” design – a modern, cheerful design which, in a tone-on-tone pattern, ‘fills’ the entire shirt, front and back.

The ‘Away’ version is black and echoes the style and design of the home shirt. The collar edging and the stitching on the shoulders, chest and sides are yellow. Here too, the Basque flag is featured at the base of the collar. The back of the neck is personalised, and the Macron Hero logo and the Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque crest are embroidered on the chest. The tone-on-tone “THE BO FAMILY” graphic appears on the front and back of the shirt.

The jerseys have a Body Fit cut and are made from Armevo and Bodytex fabrics, which, as well as being lightweight and breathable, ensure maximum durability.
