Aalborg, the capital of North Jutland and the northernmost of Denmark’s four major cities, is also known as the ’Little Paris of the North‘, and it is precisely this comparison that is reflected in the new kits of Aalborg BK, a Danish club competing in the Danish Superliga, which, together with Macron – a leading international brand in the teamwear sector and the team’s kit supplier – has officially unveiled them for the coming competitive season.
The new match kits, whilst staying true to the traditional colours, pay tribute to a city landmark: the Aalborgtårnet, a viewing tower built in 1933, from the top of which one can enjoy a fantastic view of the city and whose structure is reminiscent of the more famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. Alongside the distinctive graphics and design that characterise the Danish club’s new shirts, there is a renewed commitment to the environment, with the kits being made from Eco-Fabric – a 100% polyester fabric derived from recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard.
The new ‘Home’ crew-neck jersey features the traditional white and red vertical stripes, within which a sublimation-printed design is incorporated, inspired by the steel structure of the Aalborg Tower. This design also appears on the sleeves. The back of the neck is personalised with a label featuring a red background, the team logo and the words ‘NORDENS PARIS’ (Paris of the North), alongside an illustration of the Aalborg Tower. Around the collar is an inner tape bearing the words ‘Altid for AaB – altid for Aalborg’. The year 1885, the year the club was founded, is embroidered on the back of the neck. On the chest, the Macron Hero logo (the Italian brand’s logo) is on the right, and the Aalborg BK crest is on the left. The shorts are white with two red side stripes, and the red socks feature a white top band with two horizontal red stripes.
The ‘Away’ version in navy blue, with a crew neck and white sleeve cuffs, features an all-over camouflage pattern on both the front and back that fades downwards, echoing the design of the Aalborg Tower’s metal structure. The Macron Hero logo on the chest is in red, alongside the Danish club’s crest. The back of the neck and the inner neck tape are personalised as in the ‘home’ version, whilst the club’s founding date is embroidered on the back of the neck. The shorts are navy blue with white drawstrings, whilst the navy blue socks feature a central band consisting of two horizontal white and red stripes.
All the jumpers have a slim fit. They are mainly made from Eco-Softlock fabric, and the Eco-Mesh inserts make them particularly lightweight and perfectly breathable.
