Unione Calcio Sampdoria and Macron, the Hero company and sponsor of the Blucerchiati, have concluded the unveiling of the match kits the team will wear during the coming season, also revealing the new ‘Away’ shirt.
The second kit is white with a knitted mandarin collar and a three-button fastening; it features a diagonal band made up of stripes in the traditional colours of the Blucerchiati: royal blue, white, red, black, and then white and blue again. However, the stripe is not continuous from left to right; it breaks in the centre, where there is a patch bearing the Cross of St George, the symbol of the Ligurian capital and a feature that has always been present within the Blucerchiati stripe on U.C. Sampdoria’s shirts.
The back of the neck is personalised with the Blucerchiati stripe and the words “La Maglia Più Bella Del Mondo”. On the outer back of the neck, the silhouette of the ‘Baciccia’ – a typical bearded Genoese fisherman wearing a distinctive cap and pipe, and a symbol of the team – is printed in blue. On the right-hand side of the chest, in blue silicone print, is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo; on the left-hand side, over the heart, also in silicone, is the patch featuring the U.C. Sampdoria crest, which overlaps the diagonal stripe.
The jersey has a slim fit; the main fabric is Softlock, and the micromesh inserts ensure the garment is perfectly breathable.
