Rugby Canada, which last year joined the ranks of the federations that have chosen Macron as their technical partner, has unveiled the new kits designed by the Italian brand, which the men’s national team will wear from their next international fixtures onwards.

The ‘Home’ shirt is red with a white polo collar, and the sleeve cuffs are also white. The back of the neck features a customised label on a red background bearing the words “EMPOWER OUR CANADIAN ATHLETES”, and inside the collar there is a customised tape with the repeated phrase ‘We Stand On Guard For Thee’, part of the lyrics of the Canadian national anthem. The graphic detail that characterises this kit is the sublimation-printed design with a gradient effect on the shoulders and sleeves, depicting the eleven-pointed maple leaf, the symbol of Canada. The same design, in a tone-on-tone finish, also appears on the side panels of the shirt.

On the right-hand side of the chest, the Macron Hero – the Italian brand’s logo – is embroidered in white; on the left, over the heart, is a patch featuring the Rugby Canada Federation crest. On the back, centred on the shoulders, there is a pocket for a GPS device. The home kit is completed by red shorts featuring the maple leaf graphic design on the sides, and red socks with a white top band.

The “Away” version is black with a red polo collar. The sleeve hems feature two stripes – one red and one white. The jersey mirrors the ‘home’ version in both its graphics and details: a graphic design featuring repeating maple leaves, tone-on-tone, on the shoulders and sleeves; the back of the neck and the inner neck tape are customised with the two slogans “EMPOWER OUR CANADIAN ATHLETES” and ‘We Stand On Guard For Thee’; a GPS pocket is positioned in the centre of the shoulders. On the chest, in white, is the Macron Hero logo and the Federation’s crest. The shorts are black with red drawstrings; the socks are black with two thin red-and-white horizontal stripes along the top edge.

Both kits have a body-fit cut, whilst the main fabric is Armevo, a stretchy, durable material that ensures maximum comfort for players on the pitch.
