With the start of the new season fast approaching, Calcio Padova and Macron – the ‘Hero’ company and technical sponsor of the Biancoscudati – are unveiling the new ’Home’ and ‘Away’ match kits that the Veneto-based club will wear during the 2021–2022 Serie C season.
The new ‘Home’ kit is white with a red knitted polo collar. The vertical red stripes, printed using sublimation, on the sleeves and sides of the shirt are also red. The back of the neck features a red label bearing the club logo and the words ‘CALCIO PADOVA’. On the chest, on the right in red, is the embroidered ‘Macron Hero’ – the Italian brand’s logo – whilst on the left, over the heart, is the Calcio Padova crest.
The “Away” kit, inspired by Padova in the late 1940s – a period during which the Englishman Charles Norman Adcock played for the club – features a white polo collar with red stripes and a three-button fastening; it is red with white sleeves edged in red. The back of the neck is personalised as in the home kit, and the phrase ’For the great desire I had to see fair Padua, nursery of arts, I have arrived … and come to Padua, like one who leaves – a shallow puddle to plunge into the deep and – with satiety seeks to quench his thirst“ is printed in red. This is the opening line of *The Taming of the Shrew* by William Shakespeare, a play set in Padua, to which the English playwright pays homage through the very first lines of this work.
The Macron Hero logo is embroidered in white on the chest, with the Padua club crest to the left. The motto ‘AVANTI SCUDATI!’ is embroidered in white on the outside of the back of the collar.
Both jerseys have a slim fit; the main fabric is Gotex, and the mesh inserts ensure the garment is lightweight and perfectly breathable.
