After 23 years, the ‘Garibaldi red’ of Nottingham Forest’s shirts is back in all its glory on the Premier League pitches. The Tricky Trees, who won the Championship play-off final last May to secure their return to the top flight of English football, have unveiled their new ‘Home’ kit, designed by Macron – the club’s kit partner and a leading international teamwear manufacturer – to accompany Forest as they embark on yet another chapter of history yet to be written.

The new ‘Home’ shirt retains the iconic ’Garibaldi red’. It is a crew-neck shirt with a knitted collar. The sleeves are a darker shade of red and feature a tone-on-tone graphic design inspired by a decorative motif found on the vaulted ceiling of Trent Bridge, a historic landmark in the city of Nottingham. On the right side of the chest, the Macron Hero – the Italian brand’s logo – is embroidered in white, whilst on the left, over the heart, is the Nottingham Forest crest. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and logo, whilst the words ‘COYR’ – an acronym for ‘Come On You Red’, one of the most popular chants sung by Forest supporters in the stands at the City Ground – are embroidered on the inside of the collar. The shorts are white with red side stripes and a red thigh band. The red socks feature the Macron Hero on the front and the acronym NFFC on the back.

The shirt has a slim fit. The main fabric used is Piola, which gives the shirt a retro-style feel without compromising on its technical performance or modernity. The mesh inserts ensure the garment is lightweight and perfectly breathable.
