Red Star Belgrade, a leading club in Serbian and European football, and Macron, the ‘Hero’ company and official kit sponsor of Crvena zvezda, have unveiled the new ‘Home’ kit that Dejan Stankovic’s team will wear during the new 2021–2022 season, which has already kicked off in Serbia with the new edition of the Superliga.
The new ‘Home’ kit, traditionally red and white, is inspired by the Red Star Belgrade shirt from the 1997–98 season, which was also worn by Stankovic himself – then a player and captain of the Serbian club, and now its manager. The shirt has a white polo collar and is characterised by two large vertical red stripes ‘broken’ in the centre, which continue onto the sleeves, where there is also a navy blue stripe. The back of the neck is personalised with a red label bearing the Serbian club’s crest in the centre and the team’s name: ФК ЦРВЕНА ЗВЕЗДА.
The three stars featured in the Red Star Belgrade crest are embroidered in gold on the back of the collar, representing the club’s now long-surpassed tally of 30 national titles. This year, Crvena zvezda has in fact secured its 32nd Serbian league title (its fourth in a row), achieved with a record-breaking tally of 108 points.
On the right-hand side of the chest, in white, is the Macron Hero – the Italian brand’s logo – whilst on the left-hand side, over the heart, is the club crest. The kit is completed by red shorts with white drawstrings and white side stripes; the socks are red with a white top edge and a thin horizontal stripe in navy blue. The fit is Slim Fit; the main fabric is Softlock, and the inclusion of micromesh inserts ensures the garment is lightweight and offers excellent breathability.
