FK Željezničar, a leading Bosnian football club competing in the Premijer Liga, the top flight in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macron, the Hero company – which has been the official kit sponsor of the Sarajevo-based ‘Blues’ since last year – have unveiled the new ‘Home’ shirt that the club, which celebrated its 100th anniversary just a few weeks ago, will wear throughout the season.

FK Željezničar was founded in 1921 by a group of railway workers (Željezničar means “railway worker”) and the club’s signature colour, blue, is a clear reference to a colour that, traditionally, in Eastern Europe, is associated with the railways. Over its 100-year history, FK Željezničar has added to its trophy cabinet with one Yugoslav league title, six Bosnian league titles and six Bosnian Cups. Edin Dzeko, currently a striker for Inter, played for the club’s youth teams until 2005. Thanks to its history, achievements and a very passionate fanbase, it is one of the most important clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The new ‘Home’ shirt features white, blue and gold colours. The body of the shirt is white with three vertical blue stripes, within which all 100 years (from 1921 to the present day) of the club’s history are featured diagonally in tone-on-tone sublimation print. The white section also features a thin vertical gold line. The sleeves are white with blue edging and a thin gold line. The crew neck is blue with a gold stripe, and the back of the neck is personalised with the same design as the shirt, featuring the 100th-anniversary logo flanked by two gold ‘100’s. The number 100 is embroidered in gold on the back of the neck. On the right side of the chest, the Macron Hero – the Italian brand’s logo – is embroidered in gold, whilst on the left, over the heart, is the logo celebrating FK Željezničar’s centenary.

The new home kit is completed by blue shorts with white drawstrings. The socks are blue with a white top band and feature the Macron Hero logo in gold on the front and the words ‘Željezničar 1921’ on the back. The shirt has a slim fit and is primarily made from Softlock fabric with micromesh inserts, ensuring excellent breathability.
