The excitement surrounding FC Viktoria Plzeň’s sixth national title – the club is a leading side in the Czech Republic’s top-flight football league – has yet to die down, and the Red and Blues, already looking ahead to the immediate future, have unveiled, together with Macron, the club’s kit sponsor, the new ‘Home’ shirt for the coming season. The shirt embodies the concept of the four key ‘flows’ that drive this club: players, supporters, partners and the team staff. There are also four rivers at the confluence of which the city of Pilsen was founded, and these are represented by the diagonal blue stripes on the new shirt.
As always, red and blue are the defining colours of the new ‘Home’ kit. The collar is V-neck and the sleeves are blue with red trim. Red dominates the front and back of the shirt, but a series of diagonal blue stripes, printed using the sublimation process, run down from the left shoulder, creating a gradient effect towards the bottom. The final blue diagonal stripe – wider than the others and also featuring a gradient effect – extends down the side. Beneath the four smaller stripes is a design resembling a brushstroke in a slightly darker shade of red.
The back of the neck is customised with the club’s colours and name, and within the diagonal blue stripes – similar to those on the shirt – the words HRÁČI, FANOUŠCI, PARTNERI, ZAMĚSTNANCI (players, supporters, partners, staff) have been incorporated. On the back, beneath the collar, the acronym FCVP (Football Club Viktoria Plzeň) is printed in white. The club crest is featured at the bottom of the shirt in an embossed, tone-on-tone design. On the right-hand side of the chest is the Macron Hero, the iconic logo of the Italian brand, whilst on the left, over the heart, is the FC Viktoria Plzeň crest.
