Just a few days after unveiling the new ‘Home’ kit, Blackburn Rovers and Macron, the Hero company, have also revealed the new “Away” kit that the team will wear during the forthcoming season, which is about to get underway.
The new ‘Away’ kit mirrors the design and technical features of the ‘Riversiders’ home shirt, featuring two wide, two-tone vertical stripes. In the away version, the colours are red on the right and black on the left. The shirt has a crew neck with a white knitted trim, whilst the sleeve hems feature alternating colours: black on the red section and red on the black section. The back of the neck is personalised with a label on a black background, featuring the English club’s logo in the centre. On the outer back of the neck, the words ‘Arte et Labore’ – the Blackburn Rovers’ motto, which also appears on the club crest – are printed in white. On the right-hand side of the chest, in white silicone print, is the ‘Macron Hero’, the Italian brand’s logo; on the left, over the heart, is the club crest.
As with the home kit, the ‘away’ shirt features the Lancashire red rose, which appears at the bottom left in a tone-on-tone, embossed design. It has a slim fit, the main fabric used is Softlock, and the inclusion of micromesh inserts ensures the shirt is perfectly breathable.
An “Away” shirt which, whilst retaining the design of the iconic home shirt, combines two colours that are equally significant in Blackburn’s history spanning over a century. This is a testament to the attention to detail and care that Macron puts into the design and development of its club collections, where history and symbols blend perfectly with the high quality and technical excellence of the Italian brand’s garments.
