It is the 1997–1998 season, and Roberto Baggio has chosen to wear the red-and-blue colours. That Bologna side’s third kit was yellow, and it is precisely this colour that the new third kit – which Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team will wear this season – draws inspiration from. Unveiled today by Bologna FC 1909 and Macron – ‘the Hero company’ and the club’s long-standing kit sponsor – the shirt takes us back in time whilst looking to the future. Yellow in colour, green at heart.
Like all the other match kits produced by the Bologna-based team, the new third shirt also conveys a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment, thanks to the fabric used by the Italian brand to make it: Eco-Fabric, made from recycled plastic and certified to the most important international standard for the sustainable production of clothing and textiles, the Global Recycled Standard.
The new third kit features a crew neck with red-and-blue trim, a detail that also appears on the sleeve cuffs. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and the slogan “LO SQUADRONE CHE TREMARE IL MONDO FA”. Printed on the back of the neck is the slogan “WE ARE ONE”, a motto that represents the identity and sense of belonging to these colours. The standout feature of this kit is the diagonal red and blue stripe, which runs from the left shoulder and fades immediately across the chest. On the right, in blue and with a silicone print, is the Macron Hero, the logo of the Emilia-based brand; on the left, over the heart, is the patch bearing the Bologna FC 1909 logo.
