A new, demanding and exciting season is just around the corner, and Pallacanestro Reggiana is ready to take on the challenges of the league (kicking off on 1 October away at Universo Treviso) and the Basketball Champions League (with the first match scheduled for 5 October away against the German side Telekom Bonn). With just a few days to go before these opening matches, the Emilia-based club has officially unveiled its new league and cup kits, featuring vibrant and innovative designs and a clear tribute to the city the team represents.
As in the previous season, Pallacanestro Reggiana’s shirts are made from Eco-Fabric, a 100% polyester derived from recycled plastic, reaffirming the club’s shared commitment with Macron to issues such as sustainability and respect for the environment.
White and red, of course, are the colours of the new league kits. The new ‘Home’ kit is white with red trim around the neckline and sleeves. The back of the neck is personalised with the club logo and features the same graphic design found on both the shirt and the shorts. This is an all-over, tone-on-tone design comprising broken lines of varying sizes that create a striking visual effect. On the sides of the shirt and the side panels of the shorts, the graphic is in red. On the chest, the Macron Hero logo is on the right and the Pallacanestro Reggiana logo on the left.
The ‘Away’ kit is red with white trim around the collar and sleeves. It features the same design as the home shirt, with tone-on-tone graphics consisting of broken lines which appear in white on the sides of the shirt and shorts. There are two horizontal white stripes across the centre of the front of the shirt. The Emilia-based club also has a ‘Third’ kit, which features the same design but is dark blue in colour with red-and-white trim on the collar and sleeve cuffs. The kit also includes a warm-up top: a white crew-neck top with a red trim and the tone-on-tone broken-line design.
As for the match kit that Pallacanestro Reggiana will wear on European courts during Basketball Champions League fixtures, the new ‘Home’ kit is white with red trim around the neckline and sleeves, a colour also featured on the sides and at the top of the thighs of the shorts. The ‘Away’ version, on the other hand, is entirely red with white trim. The key graphic detail featuring on both jerseys is the design depicting the Reggio Emilia skyline, positioned at chest height and just below the shoulders, where, alongside the city’s silhouette, one can see an image of Calatrava’s bridge, a structure designed by the architect of the same name and which is clearly visible from both the A1 motorway and the high-speed rail line. The Cup kit is completed by an anthracite-grey warm-up shirt featuring two red-and-white stripes on the shoulders and sides, and the city skyline design at chest height.
