1922–2022: a hundred years of history that Lech Poznań, one of the most successful clubs in Polish football, is set to celebrate during the coming season. The season also kicks off with the official unveiling of the new ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ kits, which, as well as marking such an important anniversary, carry a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment. The new match kits, produced by Macron, the kit sponsor of the “kolejarze” (railwaymen), are made from Eco-Softlock, a 100% fabric derived from recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard. Thirteen half-litre plastic bottles are recycled to produce a single shirt.
The new ‘Home’ shirt is blue with a V-neck featuring gold trim. The two vertical lines in sublimation print at the centre of the shirt are also gold, flanked by two slightly darker blue bands, each containing a very fine diagonal stripe. The details on the sleeve hems are also interesting: two broken gold lines, each containing a date – 1922 on the right sleeve and 2022 on the left.
The back of the neck is personalised with the centenary commemorative logo, the two dates 1922–2022 and the lettering ‘KOLE100RZ’. The same lettering, also in gold, accompanied by 1922–2022, is embroidered on the outer back of the neck. On the chest, on the right in gold, is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo; on the left, over the heart, is the Lech Poznan 100th-anniversary logo. The shorts are white with white drawstrings and gold trim. The socks are white with a gold horizontal stripe along the top edge; the front features the Macron Hero logo in gold, whilst the back bears the inscription ‘100’.
The “Away” version echoes the design and style of the home shirt. The dominant colour here is white. It features a V-neck with gold trim, whilst the lines on the sleeves – interspersed with dates – and the two vertical lines in sublimation print down the centre of the shirt are also gold. The back of the neck is personalised, as with the home kit, and the inscription ‘KOLE100RZ 1922–2022’ appears in gold. On the chest, the Macron Hero logo is in gold on the right, and the Polish club’s crest is on the left. The shorts are blue with white drawstrings and gold trim, whilst the socks are blue with a gold stripe along the top edge.
Both jerseys have a slim fit; the main fabric is Eco-Softlock, and the Eco-micromesh inserts ensure the garment is perfectly breathable.
