A club’s shirt is always a matter close to the heart, just like the distinctive shape of the water lily petals, the symbol of sc Heerenveen, the Dutch team that plays in the Eredivisie. The new ‘Home’ kit, produced by Macron – the blue-and-whites’ technical partner from this season onwards – combines the colours and symbols of Frisian tradition with an innovative design and graphics. A shirt with a striking visual and emotional impact, made from Eco-Fabric – a 100% polyester fabric derived from recycled plastic – which emphasises the message of sustainability and respect for the environment shared by the Dutch team and the Italian brand.
The new ‘Home’ kit features vertical white and blue stripes. The sleeves, the details on the mandarin collar and the side stripes are also blue. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and crest. The distinctive graphic feature of the home kit is the red “pompeblêd” petals – a Frisian term for the leaves of the yellow water lily, which are heart-shaped and appear in red on the flag of Friesland and the sc Heerenveen crest. At the bottom of the shirt is an inner tape bearing the inscription “It Fryske Ian fol eare en rom” (the Frisian land, full of honour and fame). On the right-hand side of the chest, in white, is the Macron Hero logo, the Italian brand’s emblem; on the left, over the heart, is the SC Heerenveen crest. A red petal is also printed on the back of the collar.
The home kit is completed by white shorts and socks, which are available either in white with a blue band and stripe along the top edge, or in black with a white and blue band and stripes. The main fabric used is Eco Softlock, and the inclusion of Eco Micromesh inserts ensures the garment is lightweight and perfectly breathable.
