There is a strong sense of belonging to the values of one’s own culture and the symbols of one’s own city amongst those who wear the colours of the VitóRia Sport Clube, a historic club from the city of Guimarães which competes in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and, thanks to its final league position this year, has secured a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds. Cultural identity, history and a sense of belonging are extensively ‘highlighted’ on the new race kits that Macron, the Portuguese club’s technical partner, designed and produced in Eco Fabric, 100% polyester fabric made from recycled plastic. Knitwear that combines quality and high-performance technical features with a message of sustainability and respect for the environment.
The new ‘Home Kit’ of the Vitória SC è white with a polo-style collar and a three-button fastening in black, a colour that also features in the fine horizontal stripe along the sleeve hem. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours and logo, the Macron's logo and the inscription ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how every garment is conceived, designed and developed in the capital of Emilia. The detail that characterises the Portuguese team’s new home shirt lies in the three central stripes – tone-on-tone and with an embossed design – which feature symbols representing the three causes that the Vitória SC chose to adopt: environmental conservation, the fight against gender and racial inequality, and the cultural identity of the city of Guimarães, whose historic centre has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the right-hand side of the chest, in silicone print, the Macron the Hero, on the left the coat of arms of the Vitória SC. On the outer back of the neck, in relief, there is a crest symbolising the club’s three causes. The shorts are black with white side stripes; the socks are white with a black stripe down the centre and a black top edge. The fabric used for the shirt is Eco Softlock.
The ‘Away Kit’ it is ‘all black’A crew-neck top with an anthracite grey trim. The front panel and sleeves feature an embossed graphic depicting a map of the city of Guimarães. The back of the neck is customised in the same way as the ‘Home’ kit, and here too the crest symbolising the club’s three causes is featured on the outer back of the neck. The shorts are white with black side stripes; the black socks have a horizontal anthracite grey stripe down the centre and a white top edge. The fabric used for this shirt is Eco Piola.
For the version ‘Third’ with a V-neck and black sleeve hems, the choice fell on a brilliant neon orange. The front of the shirt and the sleeves feature a woven design, in an embossed pattern, comprising the letter ‘V’ for Vitória Guimarães. The back of the neck and the crest are identical to those on the two previous kits. On the right side of the chest is the Macron Hero logo in black, and on the left is the club crest. The shorts and socks are in fluorescent orange. The same fabric has been used for this shirt as well Eco Piola.
The new shirts, along with all the items in the collection that Macron has designed for the Portuguese club, will soon be available on the website macron.com.
