The Crystal Palace FC also confirms this with the new 2023–24 away shirt to celebrate its history and identity. Continuing in the vein set by the launch of the ‘Home’ shirt, the club has once again sought to pay tribute to its origins by incorporating the colours worn at the time of its foundation in 1861 into the new away kit.
As a testament to the club’s commitment to the environment – a commitment shared by both the club and its kit supplier, Macron – the new kit is made from Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric made from recycled plastic.
The new “Away Kit” is white V-neck with a thin light blue stripe along the knit hem and sleeve cuffs. The back of the neck features a customised label on a blue background bearing the club’s logo and the acronym ‘CPFC’, alongside the logo Macron and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight that every garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Italian brand’s headquarters. The word ‘EAGLES’ is printed in black on the outside of the back of the collar. On the chest, in black silicone print, the Macron the Hero, on the left is the Crystal Palace FC crest.
The shirt features a light blue diagonal stripe running across its entire length – a graphic design element particularly cherished by the club’s supporters – which starts at the left shoulder and features the repeated text printed using sublimation printing: “CRYSTAL PALACE FOOTBALL CLUB FOUNDED IN 1861”. The kit is completed by white shorts and white socks with a light blue horizontal stripe along the top edge.
The shirt Slim fit is made of Eco Sirena Light with a panel of Eco Micromesh at the back to reduce weight and improve breathability. The new shirts, along with the other items in the clothing range that Macron has designed for the English club, will soon be available in the the section on the website dedicated to Crystal Palace macron.com and at shop.cpfc.co.uk.
