When the Northampton Saints play away from Franklin’s Gardens this year, they will symbolically be taking thousands of their own supporters with them. The English rugby club and Macron, the ‘Jimmies’ kit sponsor, have unveiled the new away jersey for the coming season – a match kit that features the names of countless supporters printed in yellow, green and tone-on-tone colours against the white background of the shirt. All these names belong to those who generously paid their 2019–2020 season ticket fees as part of last summer’s ‘We March Together’ initiative last summer and who, due to the hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, were unable to attend four of the white-and-green team’s home matches. The shirt is therefore white with a green-trimmed collar and yellow detailing. The fans‘ names are printed using sublimation printing on both the front and back. There is reinforced green stitching on the sides and at shoulder height. On the right side of the chest, in green, is the Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo; on the left, over the heart, is the Northampton Saints crest. The fit is ’Body’, and the main fabric is Armevo, combined with Bodytex, which gives the garment lightness, a perfect fit and breathability.
