The red and blue colour scheme is the dominant theme of the new ‘Away’ shirt that Macron has unveiled in collaboration with Crystal Palace. Tradition and stylistic innovation come together in the new match kits created by the Italian brand, which also shares with the world’s oldest professional football club a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. It is no coincidence that the new match kits are made from Eco-Fabric, a 100% polyester derived from recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard.
The ‘Away’ jersey, with a crew neck, is white with a large vertical red-and-blue stripe in the centre, featuring a brushstroke effect. The sleeves, which have red-and-blue trim like the crew neck, feature embossed, tone-on-tone eagles that echo the detail of the club crest. The Macron Hero logo on the chest is blue, positioned next to the club crest. Another detail in the same colour is the word ‘EAGLES’ printed on the back of the shirt. The back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours, logo and the acronym CPFC (Crystal Palace Football Club).
The new ‘Away’ shirt has a Body Fit cut. It is made primarily from Eco-Poly Stretch Light fabric, and the inclusion of Eco-Mesh panels makes the shirt particularly lightweight and perfectly breathable.
Commenting on the kit, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said: “Our white away kits have always been extremely popular, and this version is sure to be well received by our supporters. This striking design gives a modern twist to our traditional white away kits with red and blue accents, whilst incorporating our rich history through our 1861 crest. I can’t wait to see the team achieve brilliant results away from home this season whilst wearing the white shirt.”.
Macron’s CEO, Gianluca Pavanello, added: “It is a great honour to be working with Crystal Palace once again, and we are proud to present the home shirt featuring the 1861 crest. We have sought to create a crest that is technically advanced whilst also showcasing all its intricate details, allowing us to highlight the club’s rich history on the pitch as well. Our team worked side by side with the club, striving to create a kit that was striking and unique – one that both players and fans could be proud of.”
