Macron further strengthens its presence in the international sports landscape through a long-term agreement with Grupo Baskonia-Alavés, one of Spain’s leading multi-sport organizations. Under the partnership, the Italian brand will become the new Technical Sponsor of Deportivo Alavés and Saski Baskonia, two benchmark clubs in professional football and basketball respectively.
The agreement includes the supply of match kits, high-performance sportswear and dedicated collections for the men’s first teams, women’s teams and youth academies of both clubs. Macron will support Deportivo Alavés and Saski Baskonia throughout their domestic and international competitions in the coming seasons.
This partnership brings together organizations that share core values such as identity, belonging and a strong connection to their local communities, alongside a commitment to sporting excellence and innovation. Through bespoke collections, Macron will celebrate the heritage and sporting culture of both clubs, combining performance, design research and meticulous attention to detail.
Founded in 1921 and based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Deportivo Alavés is one of the historic clubs of Spanish football. Throughout its history, the club has been recognized for its competitiveness, character and strong regional identity, earning a special place in European football through achievements that have enhanced its reputation well beyond Spain’s borders.
Founded in 1952, Saski Baskonia is today one of the most prestigious and recognizable clubs in European basketball. Consistently competing at the highest level of the Liga Endesa (ACB) and a regular contender in Europe’s premier competitions, the Basque club is widely respected for the strength of its sporting project and its ability to develop and nurture talent from around the world.
The history, identity and sporting culture of the Basque Country will be reflected in the collections developed by Macron for both clubs, through match kits and apparel lines distinguished by contemporary design, technical innovation and the highest standards of quality. As with all Macron partner clubs, the new kits will be produced using Eco Fabric, a material made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, reaffirming Macron’s commitment to increasingly sustainable production processes.
“We are delighted to announce this dual partnership with two clubs rich in history, identity and values,” said Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “Embarking on this journey alongside Deportivo Alavés and Saski Baskonia is a source of great motivation for us. The identity and culture of the Basque Country will provide key inspiration in the development of collections that combine technical excellence, design innovation and a strong sense of belonging. This agreement further strengthens Macron’s presence in Spanish sport and confirms the strategic importance of this market within our international growth journey.”
Haritz Kerejeta, CEO of Grupo Baskonia-Alavés, added: “We are very pleased to begin this new chapter together with Macron, a leading international brand that shares our vision for growth, ambition and commitment to excellence. This long-term agreement will enable us to further strengthen the identity of Baskonia and Alavés while offering our supporters products of the highest quality that truly reflect the pride of belonging to these clubs.”
Further details of the new Macron collections and match kits that will accompany Deportivo Alavés and Saski Baskonia in this exciting new chapter will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
