Macron is further strengthening its presence in English football with the announcement of a new multi-year partnership with Carlisle United FC, currently competing in the National League. The Italian brand, international leader in sportswear and specialist in teamwear, will supply match kits and dedicated technical collections for the first team, the Under-18 and the academy, bringing the Macron Hero to the shirts of the Cumbrians.

Founded in 1904, Carlisle United FC represents the city of Carlisle in the county of Cumbria, one of the most distinctive and recognisable areas in the north of England, not far from Hadrian’s Wall. Owing to its geographical location, Carlisle is the English professional club situated closest to Scotland. Throughout its history, the club has frequently competed in the second tier of English football and, in 1974, achieved promotion to the First Division. The following season also saw the club reach a historic FA Cup quarter final. Since 1909, the team has played its home matches at Brunton Park, a stadium that stands as a symbol of the club’s identity.

The club crest also reflects the city’s traditions through the presence of two wyverns, legendary dragon-like creatures with two legs, which are heraldic symbols of the city of Carlisle.

The partnership will allow Macron to develop match kits and collections capable of celebrating the English club’s history, identity and sense of belonging through a balance of technical innovation, stylistic research and attention to detail. The garments will also be produced using Eco Fabric, materials made entirely from post-consumer recycled plastic, confirming the brand’s commitment to increasingly sustainable production.

In England, every club preserves a unique and authentic history and Carlisle United FC perfectly represents this tradition,” commented Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “We are delighted to begin this partnership and to develop collections that combine quality, performance and design while celebrating the club’s century-old identity, its symbols, and its strong connection with both the local area and its supporters.”

Suzanne Kidd, Carlisle United Finance Director, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Macron as our new technical partner. This is an exciting partnership for the football club. Macron has a strong reputation for quality, creativity and attention to detail, and we believe they are the right partner to help us create kits and training wear that our players, staff and supporters can be proud of. Looking ahead, the new Macron kits are beautiful and we are confident they will be something our fans can be really proud of. We cannot wait to showcase them in the coming weeks. Carlisle United has a proud history, a strong identity and a deep connection with the city and county it represents. We look forward to working closely with Macron to bring that to life through the new range.”
