With yet another marvellous victory in what has been a virtually flawless championship final series, Virtus Segafredo Bologna have been crowned Italian champions for the 16th time, bringing the tricolour back to Bologna’s black-and-white side twenty years after their last triumph.
A collective triumph that has been a long time coming, from a team and a club that have always been accustomed to winning but which, over the last twenty years, have also had to learn to lose. To come to terms with the bitter taste of defeat, the disappointment of relegation. Even the fear of never returning to those heights. Hence, the effort to get back on their feet, the courage not to give up, the pride in fighting on: for promotion to Serie A, for a return to Europe and, today, for the title of Italian Champions.
A path that faithfully reflects Macron’s values and principles, which he has proudly upheld for the past ten years.
The sporting exhilaration that led to the resounding success of the Scudetto series, moreover, rounds off the Macron Hero concept: passion and hard work, talent and self-sacrifice, perseverance and creativity. Individual sacrifice and team spirit.
And it is because of all these qualities that, quite apart from the fact that we share the same city, our strong and long-standing partnership, and the sincere friendship that binds us, Virtus Segafredo Bologna’s triumph can truly be described as “a Macron victory”.
