A glorious and ancient history

It is 1931 when the first rugby team is founded in Parma; only in the post-war period did it take the definitive name of Rugby Parma. After 80 years on the most prestigious European rugby stages, the Emilian society of President Bernando Borri decided in 2011 to abandon professionalism and focus all its efforts on young players and their sports training.

A BAZA RICH IN MEMORIES AND TROPHIES

In 80 years of high-level competition, the Rugby Parma record book has been enriched by 3 Senior Italian Championships, 3 Junior Italian Championships, 3 Italian Cups and 1 Italian Supercup. These achievements are kept in the Museum named after Silvio Bocchi, a symbol of Parma rugby history. In 2019, before the two seasons were cancelled due to the pandemic, the young Rugby Parma team won the Under 16 championship. Now, to continue the movement, the goal is to reach the Serie A.

MULTIDIRECTIONAL METHOD FOR GROWING THE ATHLETES OF TOMORROW

“Our goal is to enhance the educational path of young people,” explains President Borri. “We aim to teach rugby in a fun way without performance anxiety, creating a healthy and welcoming environment that allows the boys to grow and mature as athletes and as people.” The constantly and significantly increasing numbers, despite the difficulties linked to the pandemic, prove the seriousness of the sporting project and the many initiatives underway. It is important to have a long-term vision, as explained by the director of the yellow-blu rugby team, Roland De Marigny: “We invest not only in today’s results, but we are also building the future ones through a multidirectional method that allows the development of skills, technique, and agility. Our goal is to be the reference club for the region and, why not, even at the national level.”.

SPORT, COMPETITIONS, AND SOCIAL COMMITMENT

Being champions on and off the field. This is the spirit that distinguishes Rugby Parma and Cuori Gialloblù, a partnership through which the club’s historical figures and families can channel energy and resources to support the activities carried out by important volunteer associations in favor of the most needy and vulnerable people in the territory. Among the many projects, one in particular is carried out with Macron, the technical partner of the Emiliano club, and is aimed at raising funds to be allocated to the Public Assistance of Parma. An example of how the relationship between clubs and sponsors can be further enriched through the sharing of common values and projects.
