Forty-six years ago, thanks to the Parma rugby legend Paolo Pavesi, a group of young people decided to create the first rugby team in the history of Colorno. What they probably didn’t know was that they were creating an identity trait and inseparable part of the Emilian town, like the Reggia or the Tortél Dols.

Thanks to the early results and initial satisfaction, in fact, the enthusiasm and attention around the oval ball grows, spreads, and takes root in the hearts of the people of Colornico. So much so that, in the 1990s, rugby began to be taught in the schools of the territory, becoming irreversibly part of the genetic and educational code of the city.

Professional climbing and the cross-over passion for the sport go hand in hand. Starting in the early 2000s, the women’s team project takes off; within 15 years, it will form the Italian Champion team (2017-18), while a year later the Macron-branded HBS Colorno will conquer a historic promotion to the top Italian Championship, the Peroni Top12. Then, the pandemic. Empty stands, suspended competitions, and the unnatural silence of an empty field.

Today, Rugby Colorno is ready to resume from where it left off, thanks to the strength and enthusiasm coming from the grassroots and the flagship of the club: the youth sector. Not surprisingly, Colorno is the only club in Italy to field at least one team in all the existing categories, from U6 to the first male and female teams. A ‘goal’ achieved step by step through planning, school sports training and the subsequent sharing of those sports values and principles that make Macron a proud partner of the Colornese dream.

Coop. “It is wrong to settle for everyday life, to stay with our hands in our pockets and pretend nothing is happening. We must face life with a smile, with such a desire to get involved and to succeed. Playing for Rugby Colorno means throwing our hearts above the obstacle, without giving up.”.
