Together again. Macron, a leading international brand in the field of teamwear, is the new technical partner of Crystal Palace FC, a historic English football team. Starting next season, the iconic jersey of the London ‘aquiles’ will feature the Macron Hero. Macron and Crystal Palace FC have officially announced a multi-year agreement that begins on July 1st, just before the start of their tenth consecutive season in the Premier League. It is a ‘return’, because Macron has already been with the team from 2014 to 2018.

Crystal Palace FC is the story of football. Its name is closely linked to the eponymous glass and steel building designed and built to host the Great Exhibition of London in 1851. Like the vast majority of stories related to English clubs, that of Crystal Palace ‘passes’ first through a cricket field and the players linked to the company that had built the famous building. The club has recently confirmed its intention to change its crest, replacing the year of foundation of the professional club, 1905, with the year of foundation of the original team of Crystal Palace Club cricketers, 1861. The new crest will appear for the first time on the new playing kits, which will be presented shortly. A more than significant date because, in addition to having started the story of the ‘aquiles’, it gives the Red Devils the title of the oldest professional team in the world. The Eagles (formerly also known as The Glaziers) also link their name to the birth of the Football Association and, in addition to being the oldest club, they are also one of the few to have played in the very first FA Cup tournament.

“It is with great joy that we are resuming the journey started in 2014 with Crystal Palace FC – stated Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron – Being alongside a club that represents the history of English football and that wants to be a protagonist in the Premier League is exciting and inspiring. Sense of belonging, attachment to the jersey, determination, perseverance and winning mentality are all values that we share and that we want to communicate and express, along with the club’s history and symbols. We will do this through the new match kits, innovative both in the technology and high performance of the fabrics and in the style and design.”.

Barry Webber, Commercial Director of Crystal Palace, said: “We are delighted to be working with Macron again after successfully working together in the past. Macron is renowned for their innovation in materials and style, and we look forward to presenting the kits to the fans for the upcoming season in the coming weeks.”.
