An ancient and very exotic sport has been added to the sports disciplines in which Macron, the Hero company and international leader in teamwear are present with their technical clothing. It is sepaktakraw, a sport originating from Southeast Asia, very similar to volleyball with the difference that it is played with feet and the ball is made of rattan interlacing, a natural fiber obtained from the processing of some species of climbing palms.

Macron will be the new technical sponsor for the next two seasons of the Korea Sepaktakraw Association, an organization founded in 1988 that has contributed to the development of this very popular sport in this part of the world. Macron will provide the federation with technical clothing, developing a collection that takes into account the needs of the athletes on the field, but with designs and graphic details that make the clothing line unique and exclusive.

Sepaktakraw has very ancient roots; it is an ancient sport originating from Thailand and is known from as early as the 15th century. In the early 1900s, this sport spread to many Asian countries and also to the United States and Europe. Each team consists of three players and the winner is the one who manages to win 3 sets out of 5 (as in volleyball). Its special feature is undoubtedly the spectacular nature of its actions and the ability of the athletes on the field to score points through acrobatic volleys and spins. Not surprisingly, many players, in addition to volleyball and football, have practiced taekwondo where speed and flexibility are fundamental skills.
