The Macron Hero logo will feature on the Emilian team’s shirts for the next five seasons.

Founded in 1974, Pallacanestro Reggiana secured its first promotion to Serie A in 1982 and reached Serie A1 two years later. The 1980s were characterised by the presence of great champions such as Bob Morse, Roosevelt Bouie, Pino Brumatti, Piero Montecchi, Joe Bryant – father of the late Kobe, who played for the Biancorossi’s youth team during the 1989–1990 and 1990–1991 seasons. In the early 1990s, NBA star Mike Mitchell arrived in Reggio Emilia, where he stayed for seven seasons, setting the still-unbroken record for appearances and points scored. Over the last ten years, the Emilia-based team has consistently been among the leading contenders in Italy’s top division, reaching two consecutive league finals (2015 and 2016) and strengthening its presence in Europe through participation in both the EuroChallenge (which it won in 2014), the Eurocup (reaching the semi-finals in 2018) and, last season, the FIBA Europe Cup (where it was knocked out in the Round of 16). Furthermore, Pallacanestro Reggiana has continued its successful programme of developing talented young Italian players, which over the years has seen players such as Gianluca Basile, Marco Mordente, Angelo Gigli and Riccardo Cervi develop and establish themselves, as well as Nicolò Melli, who currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA.

The signing of the agreement between Macron and Pallacanestro Reggiana coincided with the design and development of the match kits and technical clothing that the Biancorossi will wear from next season onwards. A collection which, in true Macron style, stands out for its technical excellence, exclusive design and attention to detail, and in which the Macron Hero embodies team spirit, determination and the hard work that lies behind every achievement.
