The world of rugby is home to Macron, now more than ever. The Hero Company, a leading brand in the world of rugby, is the new technical partner of World Rugby, the international governing body for 15-a-side and 7-a-side rugby, which regulates relations between national federations and organises the sport’s most renowned and prestigious world-class tournaments.

The leading international rugby organisation traces its roots back to 1886 and today oversees a movement comprising millions of players across 128 federations (the most recent being Nepal and Panama in 2020). World Rugby is, first and foremost, synonymous with the Men’s and Women’s World Cups, the Men’s and Women’s Rugby Sevens World Cups, the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and many other events across the globe that ignite the passion of over 500 million fans.

The partnership agreement provides for the supply of technical clothing for Emirates match officials and for World Rugby staff, as well as the entire range of merchandise for international tournaments and matches, including the eagerly awaited 2023 Rugby World Cup, in France. The agreement was officially announced alongside the unveiling of the referees’ kits for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, which will kick off with the Málaga round on 21 January. The kit for rugby union will be unveiled ahead of the men’s and women’s Six Nations tournaments.

Macron e World Rugby We are already hard at work designing the new clothing range, characterised by the quality and technical excellence that set the Italian brand’s garments apart, crafted from innovative materials and designed to ensure maximum comfort, enabling Emirates Match Officials to perform such an important role to the very best of their ability. These garments combine technical excellence with the elegance of an exclusive design, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The new jerseys retain the traditional colours worn by World Rugby match officials – namely blue, white and orange – but are enhanced by a new, distinctive and exclusive design.
