From 25 March to 29 April, the women’s national teams from Wales, Scotland, Italy, England, France and Ireland will take centre stage on the international rugby scene. The 2023 edition of the TikTok Women’s Six Nations, the counterpart to the older men’s tournament, and in this case too, the Macron the Hero takes to the pitch as a key player, standing out in the team’s shirts Italy, Scotland e Wales and on those of the Officials of Gara Emirates.

Launched in 1996, initially involving only teams from the British Isles, it subsequently expanded to include France and Italy, becoming the exact female counterpart to the men’s tournament. The national team with the most titles is England with 18, followed by France with 6, Ireland with 2 and Scotland with 1. In the history of Italy and Wales in the Women’s Six Nations, the best result is a brilliant second place, achieved by the Welsh in 2006 (and repeated in 2008 and 2009) and by the Azzurre in 2019.

The 2023 edition kicks off on Saturday 25 March at 3.00 pm with the match between Wales and Ireland, followed by the England v Scotland fixture at Kingston Park. On Sunday 26 March, the spotlight will be on the Lanfranchi Stadium in Parma, where Italy host France in a match that also counts towards the Anita Garibaldi Trophy, the female equivalent of the ‘Giuseppe Garibaldi’ Trophy contested by the men’s teams of the two countries.

This involvement, alongside three of the six national teams taking part and the refereeing team, confirms and strengthens the role of Europe’s leading teamwear brand in the world of rugby. Our hope, for the entire women’s rugby movement, is that we will witness an exciting, thrilling and emotionally charged tournament.

The beauty of the challenges, the winning mentality of all the players, and their ability to endure hardship and fight on the pitch for the final result demonstrate that rugby and its spirit are gender-neutral, fully embodying the essence of sport, the sense of belonging, and the determination to make a mark both as a team and as individuals, both on and off the pitch. #BecomeYourOwnHero
