The Macron Hero is “doing extraordinary things” at the Summer Rugby International 2021. Well done, rugby played and lived by the public, albeit in limited numbers, is finally back offering high-level challenges thanks to the matches scheduled in this summer window that see the best National Teams in the international rugby scene take part. Among these are four of those that wear Macron: Wales, Scotland, Canada and Romania, to which the Georgian Federation is also added, with the Macron Hero on their chest since January 2022.

July is indeed an intense month for challenges, starting with the one that took place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, a veritable ‘Macron derby’: Wales against Canada. Both sponsored by Macron, the recent Guinness Six Nations winners beat a growing national team like Canada by 68-12. In general, Welsh and Canadian teams have faced each other in 13 occasions: Wales has won 12 times, while Canada has prevailed over its opponents on only one occasion.

The Welsh Champions will then face Argentina in Cardiff (two matches scheduled: July 10 and July 17). The Welsh team has won the last four matches against the Pumas. Overall, they have faced each other in 18 matches, with the Red Dragons winning 13 times. Canada, after the match against Wales, is expected to face England on July 10 at the historic Twickenham turf where they will play against England.

Regarding Scotland, having skipped the first match against England due to some Covid positive cases, they will be involved (July 17 in Tbilisi) in another ‘Macron derby’ against Georgia, which, as announced, will become part of the teams whose shirts will feature the Macron Hero at the end of the year. Before the Scots, the Lelos will face South Africa in Johannesburg.

For those who love rugby, the Summer Rugby International 2021 schedule is truly rich, featuring the best national teams in the world competing against each other.
