Two shades of green and sophisticated, exclusive graphics characterise the new ‘Home’ shirt’ of the Connacht Rugby, a historic Irish club with 138 years of history, which joined the ‘family’ just this year Macron’. A shade of green that isn’t just on the shirts, but also in the ‘green’ message of sustainability and respect for the environment that it embodies, thanks to the Galway XV’s match kits being made from fabric Eco Fabric, 100% polyester % made from recycled plastic.

Green is the colour of Connacht Rugby and the west of Ireland, and indeed various shades of green are the basis of the new ‘Home’ shirt’ which will be worn during home matches at the famous Sportsground. The polo collar is bottle green with lighter green detailing; this colour also features in two distinct shades on the sleeves, whose darker edges are accented by a fine horizontal stripe in a brighter shade of green. The central front and back panels of the shirt are dark green and feature a design depicting, in an abstract and geometric style, the feathers found in the team’s historic logo. The design, in a lighter shade of green with a gradient effect to give the shirt greater movement and depth, continues onto both sleeves.

The back of the neck is personalised with the team logo alongside the Macron logo and the text ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how each garment is conceived, designed and developed in the Bologna headquarters for the Italian brand. On his chest, the Macron the Hero, in white, is positioned in the centre, whilst on the left – the heart side – is the Connacht Rugby crest, depicting an eagle and an arm brandishing a sword, which is inspired by the flag of the province of Connacht.

The home kit is completed by dark green shorts with white drawstrings and dark green socks with a bottle-green top edge and a light green horizontal stripe down the centre. The ‘Macron Hero’ logo appears in white on the front, whilst the word ‘CONNACHT’ is printed on the back, just above the ankle. The shirt has a Body Fit, the main fabric used is Eco-Armevo and the presence of ‘i’ inserts in Eco-Boditex e Eco-Strong Mesh, they ensure high performance and durability for the wearer, combined with lightness and excellent breathability.
