The Macron Sports Hub project represents the new frontier in the retail of technical sportswear and accessories. Launched in 2010 with 28 stores and characterised by a format that remains unique and distinctive to this day, it now boasts 167 single-brand stores spread across the globe. In 2023, there were 17 new openings: 5 in Spain, 3 in Great Britain, 2 in France and Italy, and further stores in Switzerland (Zurich), the Czech Republic (Prague), Greece (Larissa), Germany (Hamburg) and South Africa (Johannesburg). The stores in Prague and Johannesburg are the very first in those countries.

There are 167 Macron Sports Hubs across more than 30 countries. Italy is, ‘naturally’, the country with the highest number of shops: 47. Next comes the other major and strategic market for the Italian brand – the leading one in terms of turnover – namely the UK, with 34 outlets. Next come France (15), Spain (12) and, amongst others, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Benelux countries, the Nordic countries, Greece, Malta and Cyprus. Macron has a significant presence in North America and Canada, Latin America, Oceania and the Middle East. This project envisages new and ongoing store openings in the coming years as well. The forecast for 2024 is to open at least 15 new Macron Sports Hubs.

These figures reflect the growth and commitment to international investment of a company, Macron, which generates 80 per cent of its turnover abroad. The philosophy applied within a Macron Sport Hub is the same across the globe and offers every sports organisation, large or small, bespoke services. A space dedicated to clubs where they can view products, enabling them to make the best choice of fabrics, styles, colours, combinations and customisations for their teams’ kits. Graphic designers and staff are on hand to suggest the best customisation solutions for Macron garments. The option to use spaces within the MSH to organise events, presentations, press conferences and workshops.

Furthermore, in addition to the new openings, and in line with the company’s policy of continuous development, a number of shops are updating their image or relocating, whilst remaining true to the philosophy that has underpinned this project from the very beginning, thereby becoming a key point of reference for active sportspeople, enthusiasts and the many clubs that have chosen to feature the Macron Hero on their kits. In 2023, no fewer than 32 of the 167 flagship stores worldwide underwent a makeover.

“The Macron Sports Hub project is one of our flagship projects. – said Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron – The philosophy behind the opening and operation of each of our new stores is to provide every sports enthusiast with the best possible experience. Product quality and functionality, alongside knowledgeable and competent staff. We don’t just produce sportswear; we enable those who choose Macron to breathe and live sport. Stepping into a Macron Sports Hub means discovering expertise, professionalism and passion – and, wherever you are in the world, the style, sophistication and elegance of ‘Made in Italy’.’”.
