For Macron, a technical partnership with its clubs means fully sharing a project. Achieving a goal and success marks the culmination of a journey that Macron experiences with excitement and joy alongside its partners. This past season has been full of significant sporting achievements that enrich the history of the clubs that have chosen to take to the pitch with the Macron Hero logo on their chests.
Chronologically speaking, the most recent thrilling moments were those experienced at Wembley Stadium by the supporters of Nottingham Forest, the historic English football club returning to the Premier League after 23 years, as well as at the ‘Lanfranchi’ in Parma, where Petrarca Rugby became Italian champions for the 14thtime, having also won the Coppa Italia last April. These are just two examples among many from a sporting season that is now drawing to a close, and which Macron has followed alongside his favourite clubs.
FOOTBALL: EXCITING LEAGUE TITLES, CUP TRIUMPHS AND PROMOTIONS
Six European football championships have seen a top Macron club emerge victorious. Red Star Belgrade’s run has been unstoppable, as they claimed their 33rd Serbian league title (their fifth in a row), to which they can also add the national cup, their 26th. Club Brugge of Belgium have won their third league title in a row. Lech Poznań have claimed their eighth domestic title, becoming Polish champions. After a 38-year wait, Trabzonspor of Turkey have also secured their seventh league title in their history. In the Czech Republic, FC Viktoria Plzeň claimed their sixth national title, whilst HSK Zrinjski Mostar celebrated winning their seventh Bosnian league title.
Macron kits were on the pitch and in the stands to celebrate victories in various national cup competitions and, in some cases – such as in France and Poland – in finals featuring two teams entirely kitted out by Macron. The French Cup was a ‘derby’ between Macron Heroes, with the clash between FC Nantes and OGC Nice ending in victory for the yellow-and-green Les Canaries. It was a similar story in the Polish Cup final, with Raków Częstochowa claiming victory for the second year running by beating Lech Poznań. The Croatian side Hajduk Split (their seventh title) and the Slovenian side FC Koper (for the fourth time in their history) also lifted their respective national cups.
As well as Nottingham Forest’s return to the Premier League, another historic club – this time from French football – is back in the top flight: Auxerre have returned to Ligue 1 after a 10-year absence. Back in England, credit is also due to the “Pirates” of Bristol Rovers, who have secured promotion to League 1. On the African continent too, Macron is celebrating a major success alongside Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca, who have won the CAF Champions League.
PETRARCA RUGBY CLAIMS THE DOUBLE
A perfect season for Petrarca Rugby, who clinched their 14th Italian Championship title in the Peroni Top10 final by beating their ‘eternal’ rivals FemiCz Rovigo in the 173rd Derby d’Italia. Padua has rightly become the capital of Italian rugby in 2022, thanks in part to its victory in the Coppa Italia – in another all-Macron final against Fiamme Oro – a trophy that had been missing from the ‘Blacks’ trophy cabinet for around 20 years. Macron Hero has also enjoyed success across the Alps with Lou Rugby, the Lyon-based club celebrating its first European cup triumph with victory in the Challenge Cup.
VIRTUS BOLOGNA WINS THE EUROCUP AND QUALIFIES FOR THE EUROLEAGUE
Virtus Bologna have brought the EuroCup to Italy for the first time following a season in which they were major contenders in the competition. This success paves the way for the ‘V nere’ to return to the EuroLeague – a return they have rightfully earned after a 14-year wait. 2022 has been a winning year for Virtus, with this being their second title of the season following the Italian Super Cup. But it doesn’t end there… the league play-offs are currently underway and the ‘treble’ is still a possibility.
In the Netherlands, Heroes Den Bosch have been crowned Dutch champions for the seventeenth time.
VOLLEYBALL: HELVIA RECINA MACERATA RETURNS TO THE TOP FLIGHT
A promotion that was sought, strived for and achieved following a thrilling play-off decider for the Helvia Recina Macerata women’s team, who have returned to Serie A1 after seven years.
LIVE AND BREATHE THE THRILL OF SPORT
Hard work, determination, passion, team spirit and respect are the values that Macron shares with its partners, and which underpin the successes of all these teams and those yet to come. Moments that become history, trophies and league titles to be sewn onto the chest, onto the shirts that represent a sense of belonging and love for one’s team’s colours. Jerseys born of passion, professionalism, creativity and innovation – qualities that set Macron’s garments apart, making them as exclusive and unique as the emotions experienced alongside these clubs, with whom Macron is proud and delighted to take to the pitch time and time again.
