At a time when all eyes are on Milan Fashion Week, football is also taking centre stage on the catwalks. Indeed, it was in the Lombard capital that the launch event for the new “Third” shirt” of the’Udinese Calcio for the 2023–24 season, which has very strong links to the world of fashion.

The design and styling of the Friuli-based club’s third kit are, in fact, the result of a collaboration between Udinese Calcio, Macron and Marcello Pipitone, an up-and-coming fashion designer whose work is characterised both by a sustainable approach to fashion and by a style urban e street art, which fits perfectly into the world of sportswear. For Udinese Calcio, the “convergence” of quality, technical expertise, modernity and sustainability in the fabrics Macron and the design and aesthetic sensibility of the Milanese fashion designer proved to be the ideal combination for the creation of a new ‘Third’ kit with a unique and exclusive design, which nevertheless remains true to the club’s iconic colour scheme. The new Third kit, just like the other versions, Home e Away, is made of Eco Fabric, a polyester fabric with a composition of 100% made from recycled plastic. A commitment to environmental sustainability that has characterised the partnership with the Bianconeri club for years, and a philosophy which, on this occasion, finds an equally committed and passionate partner in Marcello Pipitone.

The new ‘Third’Udinese’s shirt has a crew neck edged with three stripes – white, black and yellow – the same colour combination found on the sleeve cuffs. The shirt is characterised throughout by a black-and-white pattern Designed by Marcello Pipitone and inspired by movement, by the energy of the team and its members. A design that brings together different individuals to form a single entity: a team. A determination to move forward without looking back, to achieve the goal of strengthening the bond with teammates and the energy radiated by the group. The pattern depicts people running, creating an extremely dynamic and striking effect in which the colour yellow – featured in the details and inserts – combines with the chromatic power of the contrast between black and white.

The back of the neck is personalised in the same way as in the Home and Away versions, featuring the colours, the club crest and the words “ITALY’S FIRST ‘BIANCONERI’”, alongside the Macron logo and the text Designed in Bologna, which confirms that the graphic concept, devised in collaboration with Marcello Pipitone and the club, was drawn up and developed in the head office of the technical sponsor.

On the right-hand side of the chest, in yellow, is the Macron logo, with Marcello Pipitone’s brand logo just below it. On the left is the Udinese Calcio logo. On the back placket beneath the collar, the club’s motto is embroidered in yellow: “Passion is our Strength”. The Third kit is completed by shorts featuring the same exclusive design as the shirt, with a yellow top hem and drawstring. The yellow socks feature a wide white band just below the top edge, followed by two black bands of decreasing width with a white band in the centre. The shirt has a Slim fit and the main fabric used is Eco Softlock with a panel of Eco Micromesh and inserts in Eco Mesh which make this technical garment particularly lightweight and highly breathable.

The new ‘Third’ kit, along with all items from the Udinese Calcio clothing range, is available to buy at the Macron Sports Hubs in Legnano (MI), Monza and the Udinese Arena, at all authorised Macron retailers and online at the a section dedicated to the Friuli-based club on macron.com.
