Another thrilling season in the Betfred Super League has just come to an end, the Catalan Dragons, French side XIII de Perpignan – the only non-English club to take part in this competition, which in 1996 replaced the previous Rugby Football League Championship dating back to 1895 – have revealed the new jumpers for the coming season, produced by Macron, which has been the Dragons’ technical sponsor since last year.

The Catalan Dragons fully embody the Catalan identity of the French town of Perpignan, in the Eastern Pyrenees, particularly through the colours of their crest and their shirts, which, alongside the figure of the dragon, feature the ‘blood red and golden yellow’ of the Senyera, the Catalan flag. This is also the case in kit sets 23–24, where red and yellow feature more prominently in the ‘Home’ version and as key details in the ‘Away’ version. Both shirts are made from Eco-Fabric, 100% polyester % made from recycled plastic, sending a strong message of sustainability and respect for the environment.

The new ‘Home’ The Dragons Catalans’ shirt features a crew neck with a white trim and red and yellow detailing. The shoulders, sleeves and side panels are red, whilst the main body of the shirt is white. The red is enhanced by a darker graphic design with an irregular brushstroke effect. The sleeve hems feature a mix of yellow and red, again characterised by the brushstroke effect, which is also found in the chevron graphic on the centre of the chest; above this, in sublimated print, are the Perpignan crest on the right and, in the centre, the Macron the Hero in red, with the club logo on the left. The shorts are white with a red top edge and side stripes that echo the yellow and red design featured on the sleeves and chest. The socks are white with a red top edge and two horizontal yellow stripes.

The ‘ version‘Away’ is a blue crew-neck shirt with red and yellow detailing. The brushstroke-style colour design, which also features here, is tone-on-tone, as is the chevron design on the chest. The sleeve hems are identical to those on the Home version, with a mix of yellow and red. On the chest is the emblem of the Pyrenean city, the Macron Hero in yellow and the logo of the Catalan Dragons. The blue shorts, featuring white drawstrings on the side panels, echo the yellow-and-red colour scheme and the design on the sleeves. The blue socks have a yellow top edge with four thin horizontal red stripes inside.

The fit is Body Fit, the main fabric used is Eco-Armevo and the presence of ‘i’ inserts in Eco-Boditex e Eco-Strong Mesh, ensuring top performance and durability for the player, as well as lightness and excellent breathability.
