The Ospreys, one of the top Welsh rugby clubs, have presented the New Kit Home which they will wear next season in United Rugby Championship home matches, designed by Macron. The kit features an innovative design that incorporates references to the club’s history and identity and pays tribute to Ospreys in the Community, a not-for-profit foundation which works alongside the Welsh organisation to carry out activities that benefit the community. This partnership has, in fact, given rise to a series of programmes focusing on specific areas, such as sport and physical activity, health and wellbeing, education and employment.

The new Home The Ospreys’ squad for the 2024–25 season is black A crew-neck jumper with purple detailing around the collar and sleeve hems. The jumper features an exceptionally sophisticated sublimation-printed design comprising a tone-on-tone, all-over pattern of osprey feathers, the team’s symbol. The feathers create a sense of movement and are paired with diagonal, broken and gradient purple lines. On the right side of the chest, in white, is an embroidered Macron the Hero, on the left, the coat of arms of the Ospreys.

The back of the neck is personalised with a label featuring the same graphic design as the shirt in the background, this time with the addition of the club logo, the word ‘OSPREYS’, the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how each garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus. The team’s distinctive crest is printed in white on the outer back of the neck, flanked by the acronym OITC namely ‘OSPREYS IN THE COMMUNITY’, to highlight the bond between the club and the community it represents.

Another distinctive feature is the inner tape at the bottom of the shirt, where the words are printed “THIS JERSEY IS MADE FROM 13 RECYCLED BOTTLES”, interspersed with the Ospreys logo. The match kits produced by Macron for all its partner clubs are in fact manufactured in Eco Fabric, made from 100% polyester fabric derived from post-consumer recycled plastic; for every jersey produced, the equivalent of around 13 0.5-litre plastic bottles is used.

The home kit is completed by black shorts with white drawstrings, featuring the shirt’s design repeated across vertical side stripes and at the top of the back. The black socks feature thin vertical grey stripes at the top and around the ankle, and two fine horizontal purple stripes down the centre. Above the ankle is the Macron Hero logo, and on the back, in the same position, the team crest. The fit of the shirt is Slim fit, the main fabric used is Eco Armevo with inserts in Eco Bodytex e Eco Strong Mesh which ensure the garment offers high performance and durability, combined with lightness and excellent breathability. The new home kit and the full range of fan merchandise are available at the Swansea.com Stadium shop, the Ospreys shop in the Quadrant shopping centre and the Macron Sports Hub on Carmarthen Road in Cwmbwrla, Swansea, as well as at the a section dedicated to the Welsh club on macron.com.
