Italian flair, style and the ‘Azzurri’ spirit in the new uniforms produced by Macron at the national basketball championships men’s and women’s collections, unveiled today in Rome at the ITA Airways headquarters in the presence of Gianni Petrucci, President of the Italian Basketball Federation, Gianmarco Pozzecco, head coach of the men’s national team, Luigi Datome, Head of the Men’s National Delegation, Angelo Marino, Macron’s Chief Communications Officer, Andrea Benassi, Chief Executive of ITA Airways, and Antonio Santamaria, Managing Director of Master Group Sport.
“For an Italian company like Macron, being able to produce the national basketball team’s kit – just as we do for the rugby team – is truly a source of pride, and we are very pleased with our relationship with the FIP, with whom we have been working since last year. Design, style and a love of beauty are the hallmarks of being an Italian brand – characteristics and values that are further enhanced when we can express them on the blue of the national team’s jersey. – he declared Angelo Marino, Chief Communications Officer at Macron – The national team’s kit belongs to everyone; it perfectly embodies a sense of belonging and identity, and wearing it is a unique experience, not just for the players taking to the pitch. This new kit, designed in Bologna by Macron’s Style Department in collaboration with the FIP, is made even more iconic by the presence of the Italian tricolour, which adorns both the patch on the shorts and the vest. We can’t wait to see it on the court, worn by Coach Pozzecco’s players, to whom we’ll be giving our full support, and we wish them all the best for the Pre-Olympic tournament.”.
“A team is not made up solely of athletes and coaches. In a sports organisation that aspires to great achievements, it is essential that all members give their all in their respective areas and work together to achieve the highest possible performance – he declared Giovanni Petrucci, President of the Italian Basketball Federation – Today we are here to take another important step together with our partners, members of our extended team and a source of invaluable support in all our activities. I would like to thank ITA Airways – who, in this instance more than ever, are our travelling companions – for hosting us here and for being a constant and professional presence on our travels. I would like to thank Macron for always being at the forefront of designing our kits, whilst paying ever-greater attention to sustainability and style. I would like to thank IBSA for investing with enthusiasm and creativity not only in the Federation and the national teams but also in the world of basketball as a whole through its commitment to the LBA. I would like to thank MG for choosing the FIP and the national teams as high-profile partners to support its brand. Together, with this beautiful new kit, we hope to take the tricolour that adorns the Azzurri to the highest possible level: the Paris 2024 Games.”.
Italbasket’s new home kit
The new kit ‘Home’ is light blue with a V-neck and sleeves edged with the tricolour. The main feature of the vest is the fashion-inspired pinstripe pattern, featuring slim, elegant vertical ‘pinstripes’ created using an embossed design. On the right-hand side of the chest, both in white, one below the other and in silicone print, are the FIP logo and the Macron Hero. The back of the neck is personalised with the Federation’s logo on a white and light blue background, alongside the Macron logo and the text ‘Designed in Bologna’, which certifies and highlights that every garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus in Valsamoggia. The light blue shorts, featuring white drawstrings, have the Italian flag applied to the elasticated waistband via a woven patch, whilst the tricolour stripes also found on the vest are repeated both on the sides at the hips and along the thigh seam.
