Cardiff Rugby, the legendary Welsh No. 15, is set to embark on a new season in the United Rugby Championship (Opening match on 21 October against Benetton) and in the Heineken Champions Cup (First match in Toulouse against Stade Toulousain). Challenges that the club will tackle with its usual fighting spirit and wearing the new race kits, which retain the sky blue and black colour scheme in the ‘Home’ kit, whilst for the ‘Alternate’ kit, a striking shade of pink has been chosen to complement the black. These kits also convey a strong message of sustainability and respect for the environment, thanks to the use of Macron, Cardiff Rugby’s technical partner, made from fabric Eco Fabric, 100% polyester % made from recycled plastic.

The new ‘Home’Cardiff Rugby’s shirt is divided, front and back, into two halves, sky-blue on the right and black on the left, with the sleeves and shoulders in inverted colours. The crew neck is edged in black and, on the inside, the back of the neck is personalised with the club’s colours, the club logo alongside the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how each garment is conceived, designed and developed in the Bologna headquarters for the Italian brand. Also inside the collar is a personalised sweatband featuring the team’s motto in two languages, Welsh and English, which reads: Nerth Trwy Undod – Strength Through Unity (“Strength through unity”). On the chest, on the right and in white, the Macron the Hero, on the left the coat of arms of the Cardiff Rugby. The year 1876 – the year the club was founded – is printed in white on the outside of the back of the collar. The shorts are black with white drawstrings; the black socks have a sky-blue top edge and a thin white horizontal line further down.

The ‘Alternate’ replicates the design of the ‘home’ version, but instead of the wide blue stripe on the right, it features one in pink, always paired with half in black on the left. Here too, the sleeves and shoulders feature inverted colours, and the crew neck has a black trim with white detailing. The back of the neck and the inner tape are customised as on the Home kit, and the year the Welsh club was founded – 1876 – is printed in white on the back of the neck. On the chest, in white, is the Macron Hero logo; on the left, over the heart, is the Cardiff Rugby crest. There are two options for the shorts: black or pink, both with white drawstrings. The socks are black with a pink top edge and a white horizontal stripe.

The jumpers have a fit Body Fit and the fabrics used are Echo Armevo with inserts in Echo Bodytex e Eco Strong Mesh which, as well as being lightweight and breathable, ensure maximum durability.
