Just a few weeks after the end of the season that saw the club return to Serie B – finishing 11th in the table – the’AC Reggiana has unveiled the new ‘ shirt‘Home’ which the team will wear throughout the upcoming season. A match kit in which tradition and historical references are combined with modern, innovative graphics and a tribute to one of the most important painters of the last century, Antonio Ligabue. An extremely significant choice for the social and artistic fabric of the Reggio Emilia area. The self-taught painter developed a unique style that defied convention and criticism. It was his diversity that made him an outsider. His message is direct, immediate and explosive. His most famous scenes – those depicting animals – convey the energy and strength inherent in the struggle of nature; they are a powerful cry for life and freedom. In his works, Ligabue transforms and captures emotions in paint, just as the maroon shirt carries them into sporting competition.
The kit is also made from Eco Fabric, a fabric made entirely from recycled plastic (100%). This choice is a hallmark of all Macron’s products for professional clubs worldwide, across all sports, and fits perfectly with the Granata club’s philosophy of focusing on social and environmental issues.
The new ‘Home’ for the 2024–2025 season remains true to the traditional and historic colour grenade, which is embellished with royal blue ‘pinstripes’ on the front section and the lower rear section. Within the fine vertical lines, a ‘paintbrush strokes’ effect is evident, paying homage to one of the most important and brilliant artists of the 20th century, Antonio Ligabue, whose personal and artistic history is closely linked to the Reggio Emilia area. The 2024/25 season also marks the 125th anniversary of his birth (12 December 1899) and the 60th anniversary of his death (27 May 1965). The royal blue details also feature on the edge of the crew neck and as two horizontal stripes along the sleeve hems. The inside of the back neckline also features a reference to the great painter, whose silhouette appears to be painting the Reggio Emilia club’s logo with a brush. The back neckline is then completed by the Macron logo and the inscription ‘Designed in Bologna’ which certifies that each garment is designed, planned and developed in the technical sponsor’s headquarters.
On the chest, in a silicone print, the white Macron the Hero, whilst on the left, over the heart, is the logo of the Emilia-based club. On the outside of the back of the collar, the words ‘AC REGGIANA 1919’ appear in white, and just below them is the Italian tricolour – a tribute to and reference to the history of the city where the Italian flag was born on 7 January 1797. The shorts are royal blue with garnet-coloured side stripes and a drawstring. The same colour combination is found on the garnet socks, which feature a royal blue top edge and two horizontal stripes in royal blue.
AC Reggiana’s new ‘Home’ kit will soon be available to buy at the Reggiana Store and online in the section dedicated to the Emilia-based club on macron.com.
