In the week leading up to the start of the Serie A basketball league’s regular season, the Pallacanestro Reggiana he presented the new race kits made by Macron. The Emilia-based club will be wearing them from their home opener at the PalaBigi against Dolomiti Energia Trento, scheduled for Saturday 28 September at 7.30 pm. The kits tell the story of this team, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and pay graphic homage to the city of Reggio Emilia. Like all the match kits produced by Macron for its clubs, they are also made from fabric Eco Fabric, made from 100% polyester % made from post-consumer recycled plastic.
The new Home It is white with a V-neck featuring blue trim, and the edges of the sleeves and the wide stripes down the sides are also blue. This design is inspired by the vests worn in 1974, the year the club was founded, when the club colours were indeed white and light blue and the first league campaign was played in the Promozione division. Since then, Pallacanestro Reggiana has written – and continues to write – important chapters in the history of Italian basketball, with a very strong sense of belonging linking the club and the city of Reggio Emilia. For this reason, the graphic motif featuring on the new 2024/25 kits is a map of the Emilian city, which appears in blue against the white background of the jersey, both on the front and on the back. The motif appears at the top of the jersey and gradually fades to white towards the bottom. The same pattern is also incorporated into the wide blue side stripes, in tone-on-tone sublimation printing, as well as in the diagonal blue stripes and the blue bottom hem of the white shorts.
The inner back neck is personalised with the red and white colours of the Pallacanestro Reggiana, the city map graphics, the club logo, the Macron logo and the text ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how each garment is designed, engineered and developed in-house Macron Campus. On the chest, on the right and in red, is printed the Macron the Hero, whilst on the left, beneath the LBA logo, is the team’s special logo celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The version Away, also featuring a V-neck, is red with white trim around the collar, at the armholes and on the side panels, and echoes the graphic design of the home kit. In this version, the map of Reggio Emilia appears in a darker shade of red at the top of both the front and back of the shirt, again fading towards the bottom. The same graphic is also featured on the side panels, this time in red on a white background. The shorts are red with white stripes down the sides and along the top of the thigh, with a reference to the shirt’s graphic design on the inside.
The jumpers all have a Regular with the main fabric made of Eco Baimi and inserts in Eco Mesh which ensure they are lightweight and perfectly breathable. The shorts are made from Eco Jordan with inserts which are in turn made of Eco Mesh. The new jerseys and kit from Pallacanestro Reggiana are now available in the section dedicated to the Emilia-based club on the website macron.com.
